  1. WHAT'S NEW:
  2.  
  3. Since the First release of QView Pro (v2.0) the following changes were
  4. made.
  5.  
  6. New in version v2.1.
  7.  
  8. *   A problem with the file spooling procedure was corrected.  When
  9.     a file was spooled, the form type used was form type 1.  Most
  10.     computers use a default of 0, so this caused the print spooler
  11.     to stop and say "mount form type 1 on printer XXX."  Now QView
  12.     spools jobs with a form type of 0.
  13.  
  14. *   Typing ALT-M to move a job when no job was selected caused QView
  15.     to abend.  This has been corrected.
  16.  
  17. *   QView was not able to move jobs between queues if drives were
  18.     mapped to the SYS: volumes with Map Root.  This problem has
  19.     been corrected.  Note:  If you are logged into 7-8 file servers,
  20.     at least 2 drives must be free and not be mapped to any volume.
  21.  
  22. New in version v2.1a.
  23.  
  24. *   Changed the default name of the QVIEW.INI to QVIEW.CFG because
  25.     some sites are still using the QView v1.x and the two types
  26.     of config files are not exchangable.
  27.  
  28. *   Fixed a bug that would prevent QView from starting up in the
  29.     VGA/EGA 50/43 line mode.
  30.  
  31. New in version v2.1g.
  32.  
  33. *   Changed the installer to provide more information before
  34.     "installing" a file server.  (shows 60 demo period end)
  35.  
  36. *   Added a reset useage count option to the qvins.exe program
  37.     to reset the counts for duplicate and moved jobs.
  38.  
  39. *   Added a program called QVINFO.  This program takes a QView
  40.     configuration file and produces a text file of all the options.
  41.  
  42. *   Corrected a bug that left aborted job moves on hold.
  43.     (an aborted move job occurs when qview is exited before a
  44.     job to be moved is done loading)
  45.  
  46. *   Using the ALT key while moving a job causes it to be copied
  47.     insted of being moved.  ALT-C has the same affect.
  48.  
  49. *   Corrected a bug that caused QView to abend if the 'number of copies'
  50.     field for a job was greater than 255.
  51.  
  52. New in version v2.1.2a
  53.  
  54. *   Changed version number setup to add an extra digit.
  55.  
  56. *   Corrected a problem with the %file size match in the delete
  57.     preferences menu.
  58.  
  59. *   Serial number setup changed.  (This version is actually a v2.2.0
  60.     beta, which has the new serial numbers.  You can tell the difference
  61.     between the 2.1x serial numbers and the 2.2x numbers.  The 2.2x
  62.     numbers all begin with QP22.
  63.  
  64. *   Corrected a problem with "service directory" option:  Now this option
  65.     will spool files from local drives (C:) and drives using Map Root.
  66.  
  67. *   Renamed several function calls in the Netware API library to make
  68.     it more consistant with the API provided by novell.  This change
  69.     should not affect the operation of the program.
  70.  
  71. *   Added a section to the manual for "Suggested Setups".  Also updated
  72.     were our E-mail address, Phone and Fax numbers.
  73.  
  74. New in version v2.2.0
  75.  
  76. *   New shareware release completed for distribution.
  77.  
  78. *   New order form included as "ORDER.FRM" and on the last page
  79.     of the manual.  The new order form also includes distributors and
  80.     more shipping information.

  82. New in version v2.2.0d
  83.  
  84. *   Changed the CRC procedure for speed.  New function is about 10
  85.     times faster.  This will only be noticed on files of 1 meg or more.
  86.  
  87. *   Changed mouse procedure to work better on XT computers when using
  88.     the double click on a menu.
  89.  
  90. *   Changed the new print queue picklist from a max of 80 to a max
  91.     of 150 print queues.  (One customer has a lot of print queues!)
  92.  
  93. New in version v2.2.0h
  94.  
  95. *   Corrected a bug that caused QView to interact with the shell's 
  96.     search mode, and would not allow jobs to be moved on some
  97.     workstations.
  98.  
  99. *   Added PgUP and PgDN keys to scroll queue windows.
  100.  
  101. *   Job move progress is now shown.  As data is moved, the file size
  102.     of the target job is updated as progress is made.
  103.  
  104. *   Changed CRC procedure to use full 32bit checks.  New method is
  105.     slightly slower but much more accurate.
  106.  
  107. *   Extended file locking now used.  This prevents one workstation
  108.     using QView Pro from having problems when a second workstation
  109.     deletes a print job.  (this only caused conflicts when the
  110.     workstation using QView was using the print queue file for CRC
  111.     checking or print job data viewing.)

  115. *   Corrected the move queue job function with the VLM drivers.  
  116.     This was all caused by an inconsistancy in the results of the
  117.     netware API function AllocateTemporaryDirectoryHandle(), which
  118.     seems to map a rood drive under VLMs and a full path in ODI.

  122.  
  123. *   QView.exe now looks for its' own file name rather than just
  124.     the file name "QVIEW.EXE"  this should cure some problems from
  125.     having multiple versions of QView on one system.
  126.  
  127. *   Adjusted stack size to prevent a specific problem on exit after
  128.     a timed run.
  129.  
  130. v2.23
  131.  
  132. *   Added to the overage options a feature to  "delete (any)" and
  133.     "delete (non active)".  The delete option in previous versions
  134.     was the same as the new "delete (any)".
  135.  
  136. v2.24
  137.  
  138. *   Changed the log file date/time format so leading a leading zero
  139.     is added to the numbers.  The log used to report times as 11:3:34
  140.     and will now report 11:03:34.
  141.  
  142. *   Documented the availability of ctrl-enter to be substituted for
  143.     the alt-enter command.  This is useful if QView is run in a Windows
  144.     dos shell.  The feature was left out of the documentation.
  145.  
  146. *   Documented the availability of pressing CTRL-H whil in Job View
  147.     screen for hex-dump view rather than plain text job view.
  148.  
  149. *   When placing a job on defered print, the default print time is now
  150.     the current time plus 24 hours.
  151.
